Additionally, the Soiree was a well-suited occasion to debut the new El Paso Pro-Musica staff – Laura Caldelas, executive director and Marivi Issac, operation manager. The evening was capped off with a delightfully surprising highlight – Karen Schut and Lee Vigil (underwriters for the Pro-Musica organization) heralded their desire to be married – right then and there. The ceremony was performed on the patio by Judge Kathleen Anderson, who was present at the event. The guests all gathered to witness the joyous union, and greeted the newlyweds with hugs and best wishes. ///

It was a beautiful spring evening set at a picturesque home in the Upper Valley – an idyllic backdrop for music and mingling.

The Spring Soiree is an annual fundraiser hosted by the El Paso Pro-Musica Guild to benefit the El Paso Pro-Musica Organization. Operations Manager Marivi Issac relayed that the Guild has always endeavored to hold the soiree in a private home as people love to view beautiful homes. This year's feature home: the gorgeous Upper Valley residence of Catherine Calhoun and Ed Songy, who have coined their home with the Italian moniker, "Far Niente" – roughly meaning, "carefree idleness." The musical entertainment of Robert Banta set the tone for the Guild's 30th Annual Soiree, and the event was elegantly catered by Sergio Martinez.

El Paso Pro-Musica is one of the city's most respected organizations, committed to bringing the art of chamber music to the community by presenting world-renowned artists to enchant and educate audiences.
