It was an evening for women to place themselves first as the MountainView Regional Medical Center (MVRMC) celebrated the 3rd anniversary of their Healthy Woman program on June 9 with an interactive expo and inspiring dinner at the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Festivities kicked off with a free Women's Health Expo that featured a variety of vendors and demonstrations, including Zumba dancers and free certified diabetes screenings. Guests were treated to an uplifting dining experience, courtesy of keynote speaker, Dale Thomas Smith. The renowned (and vivacious) motivational speaker, entrepreneur and author spoke of the keys to being successful and empowered in all areas of women's lives. Smith is the founder and CEO of Winners By Choice, Inc., defining a 'winning choice' as, "Realizing that you have a choice. Decisions determine destiny.

"A positive attitude is a choice, not an emotion," said Dale Smith Thomas. The words of the effervescent blonde resounded throughout the room as the crowd of attentive women nodded their heads in agreement.

MVRMC community relations manager and Healthy Woman advisor, Audrey Hardman-Hartley said, "Having Dale Smith Thomas as our keynote speaker reinforces that real women lead very real and challenging lives. Being healthy—in mind, body and spirit—is an important choice for every woman to make in her life and in the lives of her family members."

Healthy Woman is a free online resource to help empower women to prioritize their health and well-being by making informed decisions. Hardman-Hartley relays that the 'Healthy Woman' is anyone who wants to make friends, share helpful hints, and have meaningful interactions both in a safe online community and through their monthly Healthy Woman lectures. ///
